For so many reasons, this topic is important, and beautiful, and you have paid sincere respect to those involved, historically and physically, with soil work. Such little attention paid to the specifics of Etna, let alone Sicilian wine, and I very much appreciate your time and energy. Please, more! Another fantastic addition to your body of work. I find it very interesting that it is one of only ten Barolo vineyards that Galloni rated as Exceptional--yet remains to a large degree unknown. I'm sure a lot of this has to do with Brovia keeping the name Ca'Mia -- instead of using Brea on the label. In my opinion, this is one of the wines that we should all be stock piling.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1080161909822087430.post-39702042589884029362017-08-19T17:27:24.718-04:002017-08-19T17:27:24.718-04:00Thank youThank youwineORLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06163150468541915038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1080161909822087430.post-76724910403460688162017-08-17T22:40:41.051-04:002017-08-17T22:40:41.051-04:00Love your post, brought back great memories from o...Love your post, brought back great memories from our visit in 2015 to taste their 2010 vintage, thank you.<br />Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02895714489774499059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1080161909822087430.post-7555323700883241542017-07-15T03:06:31.562-04:002017-07-15T03:06:31.562-04:00The idea of compiling all the info is good. I'm wondering if you have "The Atlas of The Langhe" from Slow Food. They may not rate the vineyards, but I have often found them to be a great reference of information. I think what surprised me most here was Cerequio, and the realization that I don't own a single wine made entirely from that vineyard.Eric Guidohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16780641005168603049noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1080161909822087430.post-2007856891180663072017-06-15T01:04:23.294-04:002017-06-15T01:04:23.294-04:00Thanks for your kind words. And I certainly have heard good things about chitosan. My view is a three-legged stool. 1) First, harvest ripe but not overripe so you can bulid a good structure and also obtain a healthy fermentation, leading to 2)creating a nutrient desert. 30 Obtain a microbial equilibrium. Most of the sanitation measure and SO2 maintenace actually causes Brett by knocking out the beneficial competitors, just as herbicides and pesticides clear the way for plagues like leafhoppers and grape leaf skeletonizer. Sulfite free wines do not generally have Brett problems because there is more competition for nutrients.
